The licencing service for The Reverend Dr Neil Popham will take place on the evening of the 31st January. This service due to the large numbers of people that will need to attend will be by invitation only.
From the 30th October you may see work going on at the Vicarage. They are doing some work for Neil and Sophia before they move in. Some minor alterations to the kitchen and so forth but the main change will be to the entrance hall and cloakroom where they making wheelchair access for Sophia’s father.
Neil and Sophia with children visited the Vicarage on 21st October to get a feel for what needs to be done on moving in. It was great to see the children racing around the rooms deciding what they wanted where. They were all very excited about the move and were looking forward to the new year. Neil’s licensing from the Bishop and Archdeacon (so he can take services here) will be at the end of January.
We are delighted to announce that the Revd Dr Neil Andrew Popham, at present Vicar of St Thomas, Kirkby in Ashfield and Priest-in-Charge of St Wilfrid, Kirkby in Ashfield in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, has been appointed to be Team Vicar (Interim). Neil hopes to be moving with his family to Bradwell sometime in the new year. Neil writes this to us:
We would like to thank everyone for the kindness we were shown on the interview day recently. We are really looking forward to moving to Milton Keynes and joining the Stantonbury Ecumenical Partnership; and to introducing the rest of our family to you. We are very excited to be joining you as we carry on our Christian journeys together in this next season, and pray that we can all be a blessing to each other as we seek to follow Christ and serve our communities. We would value your prayers as we prepare to move the family, and we will pray for you. God bless. Neil, Sophia,
