Milton Keynes Soup Run

Soup Run

Note: The soup run ceased in Spring 2020 due to the restrictions and has not yet started up again; their facebook page may contain information.

St Lawrence is a supporter and contributor both with funds and volunteers to the Milton Keynes soup run. The Stantonbury Ecumenical Partnership group of churches contributes funds and has volunteers on the Soup Run on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Meeting at Christchurch kitchen in the evening to cook and prepare, before leaving to distribute soup, tea, and sandwiches to the homeless of Milton Keynes at 3 locations in the city centre. As many as 70 people can be seen on a night all with a wide range of needs. We have come to know the regulars very well over the years and regularly pray for them at our church and house groups.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me. Matthew 25
